MV Desejo Ship Controls application by TSI International using Horner Micro OCS X10 in the Netherlands.

TSI International was founded in 2020 and is in Dordrecht, Netherlands. They specialize in electrical installations, control technology, machine building and security camera systems.

The aims of this solution were to create professional ship controls with ease of use for the customer.

The Horner Micro Series X10 PLC was chosen for this application. The application also takes advantage of Modbus communication and remote I/O via SmartStix. The Micro Series X10 was chosen because of its 10” screen size, resolution, price point, availability, and protocols.

The wide, sleek profile of the X10 enables the user to fit more in the panel, saving space and resources. The X10 packs a big picture into an overall small package. With just a 6.9” x 5.2” cutout, this 10” wide aspect screen is very friendly, intuitive, and clear.

SmartStix was chosen for their flexibility. CSCan and Modbus RTU were also used. Modbus RTU was used to read data from a power meter and display the data on the gauges.

Thanks to the solution, the customer can now see generator data on one screen and the controls for pumps and lights are clustered onto pages in the OCS. This has improved ease of use and accessibility to data for the end user.
