In this demonstration, we are featuring a Canvas 7 unit operating as an EtherNet/IP Scanner, connected to an external I/O module over EtherNet/IP.
This setup showcases Horner’s newly added support for EtherNet/IP Scanner functionality, allowing the OCS to initiate data exchange using both Explicit and Implicit messaging.
The Canvas 7 communicates directly with the I/O module, polling real-time data through Implicit (Cyclic I/O) messaging while also leveraging Explicit messaging for configuration and diagnostics.
This capability enables seamless integration with third-party EtherNet/IP devices, broadening the interoperability of the Horner platform.
With the combination of a powerful multi-core architecture, advanced graphics engine, and now EtherNet/IP Scanner support, the Canvas Series continues to expand its role as a versatile and highly connected control solution.
